The siege tower proved impervious to the pitiful rounds of the arbalest. A mighty structure such as this was not easy to topple, especially only with one arbalest. However, as the siege tower continued to trundle forward they saw that there were men seeking something.
Possibly this was a weapon that could down the siege tower! Speed was of the essence! The tower began moving faster as the soldiers put their backs into pushing it along. The towers were vital to the success of the siege. If they were damaged it would be disasterous!

The siege towers trundled closer to the walls and began to pick up speed as the men pet their backs into it. Unfortunately it seemed they might not make it.
The swordsmen continued their guard, Zao Cheng amongst them, holding a shield of his own, borrowed from one of the men. It was time to win this battle, for the good of the Damu!

Alain's soldiers ran forward with the ladders. At the same time bowmen countered the enemy fire and shot back. The ladder carrying men-at-arms reached the wall and began climbing up the ladders. The wall would fall, and there was nothing the defenders could do about it.
