You may now buy different/new equipment for your troops. Please note that I cannot be exactly sure of costs until I am told what you are buying. Also consider that certain upgrades will change your troops into a different type. (e.g, buying a light swordsman a shield would turn him into a swordsman) so make sure you know how troops are equipped, and if you are planning on upgrading your troops to the next level, please take into account your leadership, fame and charisma values as you will not be able to upgrade into troops that you could not normally buy.

As I understand this is the general formula. I took a lot of cost off as the spears are the spearmen's only weapon, therefore it takes more off.
