Li Damu saw the charge and ordered a volley of arrows over his own head, which damaged the approaching horsemen, then he shouted for a charge of his own, his mounted troops streaming forward, Li Damu joining the charge. The two lines of horsemen were going to smash straight into each other... The archers checked their fire, lest they strike their own troops, meanwhile all of the "sword" troops, began to moved around the edges of the horse conflict in order to strike at the rest of Hong's troops.

(you do realise that I have WAY more men than you right?)
Zhuge Hong did not attempt to stop the charge in any way, instead allowing it to go on, hoping his superior numbers would be enough to overwhelm Li Damu's elite troops. In the midst of battle Zhuge Lan spied the enemy ruler, as did Zhuge Lao, the two of them both shouted out their challenge at the same time. "Fight me!"
(care to take both on at once?)

(heehee, bring it on!)
Li Damu accepted both of the challenges, moving through the melee to attack the pair of Zhuge family members.
(map and losses coming soon, from here on, a map will be included in important information)

(Li you are a duelaholic)
Tae ling grew increasingly frustrated that zao teng had not advanced in any coherent order for quite a while. Tae Ling told his archers to start firing on him, if he would not advance, then Tae Ling would make him advance.

Li Damu's men swarmed around the fight between cavalry, easily avoiding it because the mounted soldiers were concetrating on fighting each other. However, those on the right flank did not attack Zhuge Hong's men! Instead they ran past as they braced themselves for an attack, surprising them by ignoring them and heading straight for the main camp!
(this splinter force comprimises 250 light swordsmen, 80 archers and 100 miltia)

(argh!)
Tae Ling's bowmen continued their volleying on the troops of Zao Teng, who thus far had not responded, the rest of his men rushed to intercept Li Damu's men, to protect the main camp properly. It was worrying how the men were being stretched...

(argh is the word for it, I have a feeling I'm not going to like fighting Li in the future)
The troops who had been ignored shouted at the enemy angrily and pursued them, their own cleverness would be their downfall, and now they would be caught between both Zhuge Hong and Tae Ling's men. Meanwhile the horsemen continued their fight, sensing they were winning they pressed on.

(hee hee, you fell for it)
When Zhuge Hong's men broke ranks they left their rear open to the soldiers on their left flank, the bowmen volleyed twice and then charged along with the miltia, on the other side, the troops turned and charged the other men instead, trapping the force between the two. The cavalry turned and galloped back towards their trenches, the horsemen of Zhuge Hong following (can't get around this, they will follow, no matter what, instinct and they aren't well trained) This left Li Damu, Zhuge Lao and Zhuge Lan fighting on their own in the midst of corpses as the cavalry moved south.

(You shouldn't really post here Kai) (bloody hell Li, that is so annoying!)
Tae Ling's 300 miltia decided to join the battle roiling around Li Damu and Zhuge Hong's men, they charged in with Tae Ling and Nao Ling amongst them, attacking the lightswordsmen and archers.

(I score at being annoying)
The archers spotted the danger and knelt in ranks of two, forcing several concentrated volleys at the miltia charging them before it fell to combat, where they would not fare well due to only being armed with their daggers...

The horsemen pursued their broken foes, luckily they had broken otherwise the more fragile horsemen would have broken first, Zhuge Hong led the charge himself, shouting out in jubilation that they were almost on their enemies. Meanwhile, his foot troops continued their engagement of Li Damu's men, who would not be able to put up a great deal of resistance due to their small numbers.

Tae Ling's men weathered the arrows and continued on, though they had been shot at, there was still a significant number of them left to threaten Li Damu's men.

(you forget that swords will beat bow and spear in combat)
The archers dropped back into a shallow line on lightswordsmen, comprimising about half of them, while half fought on the other side. The cavalry continued to flee, growing close to their own trench system, things looked desperate, especially due to the indesciveness of Zao Teng on the right flank.
