Xai Tay stood on the battlement and stared out from the city, wondering how much longer he would be able to call it his own. Not long, if Zhuge Hong's men lived up to their reputation. The archers readied their arrows for firing, whilst the spearmen and light swordsmen remained on the ground inside the wall. Xai Tay's hands massaged the hilt of his sword for a moment, then he drew it, the blade shining in the sunlight. "We're outnumbered, I won't lie to you. But what they have in numbers they lack in fighting spirit! We will win!"
Kashou Lin guarded the same wall as his commander, but further to the south, the officer gripped his pike nervously, looking at his deathly calm archers. The enemy were coming, but would Kashou Lin be able to hold before them?
Troops Each officer controls 200 LSM, 200 archers and 20 spearmen

Tae Ling's men were the first onto the scene, and the soon to be battlefield. "It's a fine day for other people to die," the strategist commented, getting a laugh from his men. Tae was popular with his soldiers, but he wondered if it would be such after he led them into a bloody battle which was not just shooting arrows at helpless soldiery.
Tae ling felt a little sad as he looked at the city, and he reminded himself that they should have taken it last time, instead of having to try again.
Tae set up the catapult and ordered it to begin firing on the walls, hopefully clearing them of archers.

Ling Feng got to the battle not long after his friend Tae Ling. The general waved to his friend and left all 1000 of his archers on the eastern side, they would shoot anyone who popped up their head. At the same time, the other troops slowly began to move around the city in order to attack the Western gate.

Nao Di was stationed at the west gate. He was slightly afraid, but he knew enough not to let it show. His stare made some of his men shift uncomfortably, and the massive warrior turned away dismissively. He would be ready, no matter what the enemy threw at him.

There was a sound of clattering hooves, and those already there turned their heads to see Zhuge Hong riding up with his troops, a grim smile on his face. "Let's get this party started,"

The wallbound archers were in a curious situation, while they had less men, they also had the high groundm this would allow much more accurate shooting. As soon as the enemy were in range, it would be open fire...

tae Ling's men split up, 300 miltia and 200 bowmen each went with one of the sets of ladders, two went around to the north, while one went to the south, one of the two at the north went on past to the western gate.
Meanwhile the remaining fifty miltia brought up Tae Ling's explosive barrels, each of which required two men to carry, they left five behind and brought five forth in a heavy phalanx, protecting the explosives with their bodies.

All four hundred of the archers on the East wall began to fire on Tae Ling's militia, there was very little chance of them surviving. Lightly armoured troops against bowfire was a recipie for disaster.

Ling Feng's men could do little else but keep moving the few bowmen took potshots at those on the walls while the others either hid behind the ram or just kept moving.
The archers at the East gate immediately filled the sky with arrows as soon as they saw those atop the gate stand to fire. They were already dead.

Nao Di waited impatiently for the enemy to arrive. He swung his massive axe a few times then once again went to stare out. This time, he could see the battle starting, and he envyed those already fighting, for the longer he stayed inactive, the more scared he was.

Zhuge Hong split his force up in order to aid each assault as best he could. To the South he sent 200 militia, 250 light swordsmen, 250 bowmen and 100 light spearmen, as well as Lu Shei. To the North went 250 bowmen, another 200 militia, and further 250 lightswordsmen and Zhuge Lao. Finally, the west took 250 lightswordsmen, the last 200 militia, 500 archers and Zhuge Zen. Zhuge Hong remained at the East with his horsemen, and watched as the men moved into action.

"Get down you fools!" Xai Tay screamed as the battlements were showered with arrows, most of his men heeding his warning and taking cover, although, as always, some were too slow.
Elsewhere, Kashou Lin decided that he would abandon the wall, taking his archers down, he ran down the stairs into the city, shouting, "With me! With me!"
"YOU COWARD!" Xai Tay roared. "I'LL SEE YOU HANG FOR THIS!" Kashou Lin ignored him and led his men up to the gate. "Open the gate!" he shouted, as Xai Tay's eyes widened in horror. Kashou Lin was defecting, dooming the city.

Tae Ling's catapult flicked a boldur like it was a small pebble, the massive rock went flying into the air and smashed into the battlements, taking a big chunk out of them. Tae Ling sent his older brother to supervise the group at the southern gate whilst the teams moved into position. The north and south were already ready, they only awaited the arrival of Zhuge Hong's reinforcements.

Zhuge Hong's men joined up with those of Tae Ling swiftly - on all three sides and all three groups, significantly increasing the manpower and fighting strength of those units. Soon they would be in, and no Li Damu would stop them.
